Claves are probably the most basic type of instruments. They can be used at very early stage, for various musical games and activities. Of course, you should have quite a few - a pair for each child. They are used mainly for exercises regarding rhythm and beat.

Shakers are also very simple and useful. They are also light and round and therefore also safe to use with the smallest toddlers.

Rainmaker is a really enchanting instrument. It enhances the attention of children. 

Tambourines are also very useful; children usually use it for accompaignment of songs.
